Ok, boys and girls…when I’m not locked safely away in the asylum, roaming the alleys rolling bums for spare change, or passed out in an alley curled up with a trash can, I’m sucking down squeeze cheese, quaffing the sweet, sweet Guinness and spending time out among the humans a little.

Well, only a little. What a waste of time that can be.

The humans are odd and pesky creatures, indeed…this is what I discovered, what you may have already discovered for yourselves…

Other people always know exactly what you should & shouldn’t do with your life. They have an overwhelming desire to shove their wisdom down your throat. Wow…what would we do without these people? How in the hell would we live?

But, really, that isn’t so bad. There is another sort of human that is far worse. These are the ones that create a sensation similar to that of sandpaper on a raw nerve ending…the ones that run from living, seeing, feeling, knowing, loving and tasting.

They run to the water, they see a million dreams and smiles and possibilities reflecting in the mirror before them, they dip their little toes into that unknown…and then they run; they run as fast as they can, they run until the blood pumping through their veins burns and they think they can run no more, until they finally arrive back at that nice, dark cave…& once they are there, they burrow down, down as deep as they can…where no one can ever find them again.

That sucks.

Life is terrifying, indeed. Thoughts of the future are overwhelming…almost as overwhelming as the prospect of pain, rejection, failure and disappointment.

It screws with me all the damn time – the real drag about something good coming along in our lives is that with that good thing also comes the danger of it being taken away.

Sounds like a no-win situation, doesn’t it? Ok, if you’re nodding your head, then this is a sad state, indeed.

If you are burrowing in the darkness, just take a look around you, man – open your eyes and dig the sunrise, start dreaming…it’s one of the most beautiful things that you’re capable of. You are the only light in your long, dark night…you are the only thing that makes life an amazing bliss, you are it – you are your life and this is not all that there is…

Sometimes hitting the bottom is where I like to be…if I can’t see the bottom, I’ll never, ever see the top. It’s nice to visit the depths alone…but no one can survive there.

Run to the water, dive in head first, flow through millions of dreams, smiles and possibilities & just grab it with two greedy hands…you might lose a grasp on it later, but it’s better than never having it.

Squeeze cheese & Guinness seriously rock me.
